A Chicago couple have been charged with felony home invasion after prosecutors say they forced their way into an apartment in the South Chicago neighborhood Friday night and assaulted the people inside.
Linda Alford, a Chicago crossing guard, and her husband, Dennis Alford, a CSX railroad police officer, each was charged with felony home invasion with a weapon in the incident in the 3000 block of East 79th Street, according to Cook County court records.
Linda Alford, 48, had previously been an at-home caretaker for one of the women who lived at the apartment, Assistant State's Attorney LaShunda Cooperwood said Sunday in court.
